MARK is standing on empty stage. GARY walks slowly up to him.

MARK
What’s going on? What have you been up to?

GARY
Nothing.

MARK
Really? You must have done something.

GARY
Yesterday I sat in a white room with no windows drinking water and eating dry toast while staring at the wall.

MARK
That is nothing.

GARY
I told you. I am the winner.

MARK
Well there you go. That’s something.

GARY
Damn it!
